The goal of this code is to establish procedures for performance testing to evaluate the following: capacity, product fineness, raw coal feed, grindability, moisture, sizing, power consumption, and the impact of variations in raw coal characteristics on product fineness, pulverizer capacity, and power consumption. It also examines how changes in pulverizer component settings affect product fineness, pulverizer capacity, and power consumption. This code applies to the entire pulverizing system, including all components required to process raw coal, hot air, and tempering air at the system's inlet, and deliver pulverized coal in the correct mixture with air and/or flue gas at the desired temperature at the system's outlet.
