1. Scope
This document outlines methods of application of mechanical shock (impulse) excitation to electronic tubes and valves.The methods are based on current practice of the application of shock.The document should not be regarded as a Recommendation in the sense of a standard because a more detailed description of the equipment is needed if measuring results are to be comparable within definite tolerances.
2.Definition of shock
For the purpose of this document shock is defined as mechanical excitation of a single pulse or damped train of pulses of acceleration.
3.Method of application of shock
Typical methods used for the application of mechanical excitation are described in Appendix A.
